MaltaPost is commemorating the 150th anniversary of the first Maltese stamp.
The stamp was first used on December 1, 1860. It featured a profile view of Queen Victoria’s face.
20,000 commemorative miniature sheets will be released, including 1 stamp with a denomination of €2.80, an image of an addressed envelope that is the earliest recorded use of the stamp, and the stamp itself.
They will be available from all MaltaPost branches in Malta and Gozo as of December 1.
